Immediately afterwards two relevant channels of information for would-be migrants are analysed, the migrant networks and the mass media, with the aim to highlight their associated drawbacks. Section fourth lists some consequences associated with the lack of information and the potential consequences of more and better information for the migrants themselves, and finally the last section speculates about the vested interest underlying the absence of attempts to improve information.
